Emily's Cupcakes coming soon....

I haven't posted in awhile, many apologies!

Currently, I'm in the final stages of opening a small business here in Shanghai - "Emily's Cupcakes" will be open soon and I'll let you know as soon as our website goes live and you can order online or over the phone!

Ever since I moved here a little over a year ago, I've been thinking about starting my own cupcake business. With my culinary background in catering and as a personal chef as well as my background in Marketing and Advertising it seemed like a great idea! Plus, I love cupcakes - they're adorable and bring back so many childhood memories. We aim to be open for business in 2 weeks, so keep your eyes open for some new delicious treats on the Shanghai scene!

Cupcakes in Shanghai sounds like fun! please post the address when the bakery opens. I love Chinese food, but I get homesick once in a while when I'm abroad.

Also, you may want to change the recipe from the cupcakes you've made in the States. Chinese people don't like things as sweet as we Americans do. They had to change the Oreos recipe 43 times before they started making a profit in China. I actually prefer those to the American version here. It's less sweet, which gives it a dark chocolate taste. Better stop writing now, I'm getting hungry!

Hi Emily! I found your blog when I realized my own (claireinshanghai.blogspot.com, ha!) was googlable. I'm so glad someone's started a cupcake business here; I've been thinking about how much Shanghai needs good ones since I arrived here last September. I'd love if you could email me some more info about them - I'm at clairetb@gmail.com .

Happy baking!

Well, good luck to you endeavor. I think they're all yummy.
